840 electronic identification tags are approved by the USDA for use in the National Animal Identification System (NAIS) and employ full duplex (FDX) radio frequency identification (RFID) technology to transmit animal identification information to compatible scanners, providing quick and accurate identification and data transmission. The small size of these tags help keep them in place and their tamper-proof design ensures they will remain secure for the life of the animal.
