Newton Grove, NC USA April 2019 6 Wind Diverters Figure 2: Fastening Order for Wind Diverters Step 4: After fastening the three brackets to their respective locations seek assistance in positioning the wind diverter brackets around the outside of the fan housing. Position the wind diverter cone such that the center of the cone aligns with the center of the front guard. Also, position the diverter such that the holes that will be drilled in step five are far enough toward the guard allowing the fasteners to not interfere with the fan blades during operation. Step 5: Using a marker mark the positions of the six holes to be drilled in the fan housing being sure to give ample space between the holes and the fan blades. **NOTE: Failure to ensure proper clearance on the fan blade could cause serious damage. Step 6: Use a ¼” drill bit to create holes in the housing. Step 7: Using the same fastening order as in Figure 2, fasten the wind diverter to the fan housing. Step 8: Hand spin the fan blade to check for clearance on the fasteners. Step 9: Plug fan motor back in and resume operation.
