ONCE® AgriShift® 12 watt MLB modular lights for broiler and turkey operations were created to help poultry operators significantly reduce electricity costs, decrease labor and maintenance costs, and increase flock performance. AgriShift® MLB lights are more energy efficient than fluorescent, incandescent, and HID counterparts. The savings can provide a fast return on investment, especially when considering the potential availability of energy efficiency rebates.

Compared to other barn lighting systems, these lights have no need for ballasts or transformers. They provide reduced heat generation, and can dim down to 5% which is especially important for maximizing grow out. The wet location rated modular design allows for easy installation in a wide range of applications.

Productivity Enhancement The AgriShift® MLB was the first line of lighting systems to take advantage of avian vision responses. Specifically designed for broiler and turkey growers, the full spectrum fixture contains enhanced red and Dim-to-Blue® technology, allowing complete control of lighting levels and color spectrum throughout the life cycle of the bird. With an AgriShift® Master Controller or Slave Dimmer and a ONCE® recommended lighting program, producers can improve bird weight, flock uniformity and feed conversion while lowering stress levels and improving animal welfare.

The Science Behind the Technology The AgriShift® MLB has an enhanced blue and green spectrum with added red content for early bird development. Green light increases growth during early stage of development, while blue light is shown to be helpful in the growth of poultry at a later age by elevating plasma androgens. Other studies show that blue light can calm birds, reduce blood pressure and positively effect blood glucose and triglyceride levels.
